How would you like3... This is very simple thing2! You need just one battery ane one starter2. If you connect these two things in one circle you will wee that starter is spinning2! And thats not at all2... Another part, you need to generate the electricity2. So, when you connect the conducter to one clemm om starter and radio to another - you will see that radio is working2! It's a miracle, isn't2? Thank to Edisson, Tesla and Popov2! Good luck2!

On September 13-16, Krizinne's Grandfather and I took advantage of the Milford Community Garage Sale to raise money for Krizinne's heart transplant. Many friends and family members donated items to the sale. We were pleased to have many people come to the sale even though we are located on a cul-de-sac (fancy for dead end). We shared information about Krizinne's situation with folks who passed through. These folks know know how to make a contribution to NTAF. We made several hundred dollars at the garage sale. Some times even those who didn't buy anything made a donation. We had a great time working together to raise funds for our granddaughter.

In 2006, I turned 50 years old on October 26. Strangely enough, as I turn 51, it will also be on October 26. Last year, friends wanted me to celebrate in a big way, so we celebrated my 50th on October 6, 2006. It was also on that day that I learned my nephew, Ronald Cross, Krizinne's brother, who was home from his deployment in Iraq, was in a truck accident. In that accident, he was thrown 40 feet from a truck and nearly lost his life. Through a whole series of good fortune including a good samaritan who helped Ronald receive medical attention, the wonderful medical care at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and Kindred Hospital, support from the Wyoming National Guard, a lot of prayers from friends and family, and Ronald's strong will, Ronald is recovering well from the accident. For Amy and Phil Cross, when Ronald was careflighted to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, it was the 2nd time they had a child careflighted to a hospital in 2 months. In August, Krizinne had been careflighted from Douglas, WY to Casper, WY as she was learning that she needs a heart transplant.

Things are improving for the Cross family. Attached is a picture of Ronald that I took when I was visiting my sister and her family in August 2007. They still have many challenges to over come. Ronald's Traumatic Brain Injury is healing with time. Krizinne's medical attention is making it possible for her to take care of her family with a lot of support from friends and family.

Thanks to all who help the Cross family with your thoughts and prayers. There's still a significant amount of money to be raised for the expenses related with Krizinne's heart transplant. Thanks to all of you who are able to help with the fundraising efforts.

On Tuesday July 31, 2006 in the evening, as a break from the Ohio Education Association's Summer Leadership Conference, I was attending the Western Ohio Education Association's (WOEA) social event: a night out at Scioto Downs for a dinner buffet and sulky racing. About 25 members of WOEA attend this event this year--about as many as last year. Last year (2006) this event occurred on Tuesday, August 1.

Just as we arrived to the track, my cell phone vibrated and I checked to see that I had a voice message. It was from Amy Cross, my sister. Her tone was urgent. She left the message that she and Jared were taking Krizinne to a hospital because Kriz had collapsed on her way home from her time in hospitals in Denver. I think Amy mentioned thunderstorms. I know that Amy asked me to get the prayer chain going. I called our parents and siblings. The phone calls were made beyond that to other family members. Amy had said that I shouldn't call her back because she was using a doctor's cell phone.

A year ago, I didn't have a very good time at the races. I couldn't focus on the races. Today I don't even recall if I made bets. I was doing my best to pray and listen to others. I let others know what the concern was and they expressed their concern. I found it frustrating not knowing and realizing that Kriz's life was in great danger.

This year, I was able to make bets on each race. I only won $3.80 cents and spent $20 on bets. I'm glad I was able to bet this year even though I did lose. I'm also glad to know that a year after that night of not knowing what Kriz's future might hold, I have great hope for Kriz's future.

Krizinne is blessed with an army of friends of family who are working hard to raise the money needed for her transplant when the time comes. We have made great progress in raising money and we have a long way to go. She is blessed by doctors and other medical professionals with the gifts and talents to monitor and provide medical treatment for her condition. She is blessed with the scientific advances that mean she has great chance for a long and healthy life. We are blessed to have this opportunity to know Kriz and her family and her friends.

I'm looking forward to visiting Kriz and her family while my friends and I come to Dubois for the NOD fundraiser. What a difference a year makes!
